Life History
There was a Joseph Clark that sailed on the 'Paimira' from Plymouth, England on the 14/4/1848 and arrived in Port Phillip on the 19/7/1848. Joseph was an unmarried male aged 20 years from Farrington Buckingshire. Religion Episcopalian. Joseph could read and write with a calling of 'Gardner'. On arrival Joseph Clark went to work for R.M. Sutton of Melbourne. The time of this arrival coincides with the marriage of our forebears in 1853 at Geelong, Vic. Joseph was born in Montrose, Scotland and it is conjecture that he had move to Farrington Bucking shire before immigrating to Australia. (no records to support this are available)
Death
Vic BDM 11223 - Joseph was employed by the Victorian Government Railways from 1862 as Line repairman, Flagman and gatekeeper.
